2022 is here and Got Tea hit the ground running. To keep up with our growing customer base and to satisfy everyone, we started the year with not one but TWO new flavours. 

Revamping the old

Well, technically, one was an upgrade of an existing flavour. With our R&D expert Daniel, we revamped the Classic Black bubble tea and transformed it to the Royal Milk Tea. Served both hot and cold, this version has a richer flavour, is creamier and smoother, and has been inspired by how the Japanese make their black teas.

Launched on 2 January 2022, this flavour has quickly become a crowd favourite, and is rising up to become a bestseller. Even the Got Tea team has been enjoying this drink – though Scarlet Jamong has been YuSung’s favourite for a while, he is now team Royal Milk Tea all the way!

Introducing the new

While the Royal Milk Tea brings a little bit of Japan to Got Tea, the next flavour is all Korean. Banana Milk is a concoction of fresh banana jam, made in-house, mixed with milk, vanilla and a hint of sweetener.

The flavour is reminiscent of Banana Flavoured Milk, a signature beverage manufactured by South Korean company Binggrae. Ask any South Korean about Binggrae’s Banana Milk and they will be reminded of their childhood. Many of you may even know it as BTS’s Jungkook’s favourite drink! 

YuSung and the Got Tea team wanted to continue bringing some classic Korean flavours to Got Tea, and a banana drink had been in the works for a while. Since the latest COVID-19 related lockdown prevented the team from carrying out in-store tastings, Got Tea sent out small samples of the flavour along with all orders before launching to get an idea of how customers would respond to it. The customers loved it, and within a week of launching, it has quickly become one of the bestsellers at Got Tea.

Playing on the theme of nostalgia, the team has launched a campaign to ask customers what reminds them of their childhood – you can take a trip down memory lane with Got Tea using their special Banana Milk filter on Instagram!

The year has only just begun

So much has happened at Got Tea, and it is just January! The team is working on a lot more for this year, including new flavours, new products and even a new store location, which will be opening in March in Gurgaon.
