This page explains how users of the Got Tea mobile app can request deletion of their app account and associated personal data.
The Got Tea app is operated by THEGOT HOSPITALITY PVT LTD.
Delete Your Account From the App
If you can access your Got Tea account, you can request deletion directly in the app:
- Open the Got Tea app.
- Sign in with your registered mobile number.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Account Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion request.
After confirmation, we will begin processing deletion of your Got Tea app account and associated personal data, subject to the retention rules described below.
Request Account Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email.
Send your request to contactus@gottea.in with the subject line Got Tea App Account Deletion Request.
Please include:
- Your registered mobile number used in the Got Tea app;
- Your full name, if available in your app profile;
- A short statement that you want your Got Tea app account deleted.
For your security, please do not send OTPs, payment card details, passwords, or other sensitive information by email. We may contact you to verify that you are the owner of the account before completing the request.
Data That Will Be Deleted or De-identified
When your deletion request is verified and processed, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with your Got Tea app account, including:
- App account profile information such as name, mobile number, date of birth, profile photo, and display name;
- Authentication identifiers associated with the Got Tea app account;
- Push notification tokens and notification preferences;
- Saved profile photo files, where applicable;
- Referral profile information associated with your app account, where it is not needed for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal reasons;
- Location-derived app data associated with your account, such as nearby-store data generated from optional location permission;
- Other app account data that is no longer required for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Data That May Be Retained
Some information may be retained after account deletion where required or permitted by law, or where needed for legitimate business, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, tax, audit, or dispute-resolution purposes. This may include:
- Order, invoice, payment-mode, reward redemption, coupon, and transaction records connected to purchases or store operations;
- Records needed to prevent duplicate reward claims, fraud, abuse, or unauthorised activity;
- Customer support records and deletion request records;
- Legal, tax, accounting, audit, and compliance records;
- System backups and security logs until they are overwritten or no longer required.
Where retained data is no longer required to identify you personally, we may anonymise or de-identify it.
Deletion Timeline
We aim to process verified account deletion requests within 30 days. Some retained records may remain for longer where required by law or for legitimate purposes such as accounting, tax, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security.
Backup copies and logs may take additional time to expire or be overwritten according to our normal backup and security retention cycles.
Deleting the App Is Not the Same as Deleting Your Account
Uninstalling or deleting the Got Tea app from your device does not automatically delete your Got Tea app account or backend records. To delete your account, please use the in-app deletion option or email us using the instructions above.
